Church of Sacred Heart in Bueyeros, New Mexico

Church if the Sacred Heart is located in the village of Bueyeros (oxen drivers) in northern New Mexico. It was built in 1894 of local stone. The church sponsors an outdoor "Miso de Cerro" in late July a the foot of the butte, an unbroken tradition since 1934. Dedicated to Santiago, it's purpose is a prayer for rain.
