Acoma Mission Church

Acoma, the largest of all the early mission churches was built in 1629. It is remarkable both for its massive construction and the fact that all of it's materials were brought to the top of the 350 foot high mesa on the backs of men. The timbers for the vigas were carried from the mountains 30 miles away.
